Drifting
1. How easy is install/take-down?
2. Price?
3. Assume it must come out each time soft top is raised?
4. How long to install and take out?
Looks interesting. How does it compare with the current GM wind screens in terms of keeping the wind out? Thanks.

When is the group buy and what kind of discount? Right now anybody can get 5% and free shipping on a single order. Does anyone have one of these. How effective is it with wind control?

Then what was the group buy all about? It is a good looking product but is it functional? Unless I have a heavy cross wind I can wear my Stetson without a problem up to about 55 mph top and windows down. Will your wind screen better that?

From all the folks I know that have them they swear by them and say it does greatly reduce wind turbulance at speeds over 40 mph.

Melting Slicks
I have one and it works well. With the side windows rolled up, you carry on a conversation, the turbulence from the rear is greatly reduced, you can hear the radio, and my baseball cap doesn't blow off. I can't comment on a Stetson.
I just installed it before Christmas, and have only had one chace to put the top down and cruise at 70-80. It worked well, and I am looking forward to a 5000 mile trip this summer, all with the top down. My wife and I take these trips frequently, and they are the reason I bought the wind restrictor.
The parts fit well, the install took a couple hours, and is not difficult except for those speaker connectors, which require you to push a tab down to pull them apart, but that's a typical GM connector.
The instructions say that the top has to be raised several times, as it would come down after a few minutes. I implied from that statement that the cars computer would lower the top. NOT TRUE. The top simply drifts down as the hydraulic pressure bleeds off. Just lower the top half way, then put a stick under it to hold it up as you are doing the install.
Follow the instructions, they are correct and result in a good installation. I have a non illuminated version, I cannot comment on the lighted models. It does show up in the rearview mirror, but after a few minutes you don't notice it anymore. You do not have to take it out to lower the top. Once installed, it stays there. If you wish to remove it, it can come out with 4 nuts being removed, and the stanchions can remain, and are not in the way. You can still reach the shelf in the rear.
