Default Body Control Module

Have a drivers side front turn signal that doesn't work. Rear works fine. Running light works fine. Changed the bulb three times - no change. I used a 12 volt tester on the socket and found power to running light, but not to turn signal. Took the car to a trusted mechanic and he says that socket & pigtail are fine, but there is no power to the light from the "body control module".

His remedy will be to: first - reprogram the module; second - replace the module.

What kind of cost am I looking at for a replacement module?

Trying to prepare my wife for the news!

Thanks,

BobD

First of all, there are very, VERY, VERY few people capable of reprogramming any of the modules on a Vette.

Second of all, who is your "trusted mechanic"???

If he's not a dealer, I guess he's somebody who has a GM Tech 2, because there's not much any other way to determine anything about the BCM or other computer modules in the car.

I don't know what your problem is, but I'd be very surprised if just that one file in the BCM got corrupted somehow and nothing else did.

I'd check continuity of the wire, and also all grounds in the area.

The 4 red arrows in this schematic point to areas that need to be checked before playing with the BCM. Also need to check wires between those spots.

It is possible, but very very unlikely that the BCM is the trouble.

I'd even check the fuse too. The pigtail could be the culprit. Check continuity as suggested.
