Default Got my car back from the dealer today!! Great story!!

About a week ago i dropped my car off at the dealer to replace harmonic balancer and water pump... Mind you all my car only has 21k on the odo and is never abused. However being an 06 it doesnt have warranty.. After speaking with the service manager chevy agreed to pay half the parts and labor. Very fair i thought. Well it turns out the service manager didnt find it to be fair at all! I walked in today ready to pay the agreed upon price of around 800 bucks and got a bill for only 250!!!! I asked him if it was a mistake. All he had to say was pay the girl at the window and enjoy your car. Gave him an amazing tip and a hug and off i went. Now thats a great dealer and service!! All dealers should be like this.

I agree, that is a great story! But in your excitement, you kept hitting some wrong keys. Thank goodness we all can read through it. j/k

That's awesome!

(Is it customary to tip the service manager...or anyone else, for that matter)?

to semi-answer your question, over the years, it's been suggested, and done, by several posters on various threads. usually, it's for extraordinary service such as this was, but not always limited to that kind of above and beyond service.
