I saw someone else make a similar post recently.
I was changing the roof on my car the other day so I possed open the pass side door and hopped in. Ihe car was no running. I could hear a motor sound from the dash as it sounded like either the dvd drive or cd was running and the car was neither running nor in acc mode.

Is this the way its supposed to be?

Do you have NAV? I think that is the NAV disk if you do have it.

Yup, happens every time. It has to be the nav doing something because I don't have a CD in (the CD died some time ago).

Are you supposed to remove the DVD every time you shut the car down?

No, you do not have to remove.

My '11 GS does the same thing. It seems to power up when the door is opened and the electronics "wake up". When my battery went dead and I connected the CTEC charger to the cigarette lighter the Nav made all kinds of racket.

Mine does the same. I've learned to ignore it.
