I was just curious to see what the best way of doin A zr1 body kit conversion on my c6 coupe. Do you recommend Going with mainly gm factory parts or other companies Like c7 carbon or other aftermarket companies for the better price? Default Gm partshouse

Try using OEM and wont have fitment issues. I did mine with oem and bolted on with no issues. I cant comment on other aftermarket but there other threads that you can see some feedback on this. Good luck .

"C7 Carbon"
Do yourselves a favor my friends and don't be tempted like I was by this incompetent vendor!!! No amount of money is worth the headache of calling them for three months trying to get what you have already paid for. Every week it was like calling an Alzheimer's patient trying to remind them who you are. If I hadn't kept at it they would have kept the money and never sent a thing. Find a different vendor trust me.

do it right the first time, save yourself the headache in the long run and do OEM. Gene and Patrick @ GMPARTSHOUSE are phenominal vendors with competetive pricing. It's worth the initial 3-5% cost increase over the knock offs when you don't have to pay exta in labor and paint to "fit" body panels. You get what you pay for IMO......check some of my threads for my expiriences and build stories

So I can order the ZR6X rears and installation kit. Get them painted and install them myself just using the same tools I used to remove the stock panels? I've been eyeballing these for awhile and wanted something more extreme than Z06 fenders.

GM Partshouse all the way. I bought the widebody for my vert and had no issues at all. They use genuine GM parts only. I have heard many horror stories about C7. Stay away from them unless you want to get screwed and have money to waste.

If you include front splitter and side skirts, hood and roof, you are looking at easy 15k plus paint and you will never recover even a fraction of this money should you ever attempt to sell your car. The real ZR1 body conversion is quite complex and you still end up with a look alike. I would save up my money and just get a real widebody when time comes if this is wha you like.

Thank you all for the support. I would be happy to assist anyone looking for the OEM ZR1 body kit and all our parts are new GM and not blems (quality rejects) like some other vendors. Please feel free to give me a call or email me at patrick@gmpartshouse.com

sorry, but mine looks just as real a widebody as the factory one.
A widebody look is a widebody look whether the factory did it or I did it.
Those of us that do it aren't claiming it is a Z06, ZR1, or GS. We are calling it a widebody, which is exactly what it is.
My car and widebody are completely paid for, why would I go get into debt for over $50k for a widebody factory Vette.
