Out of commission for a while . . .
Well it is a beautiful day here is So. Cal. Sun is shining and low 70's, beautiful day for a drive. I decide to take the GS out for a lunch run to the Mt. Baldy Lodge, via Glendora Mountain and Glendora Ridge Road.
Windows are down and air goes off as I climb into the higher altitudes. Taking a leisurely drive in third, nothing over .98 G's. I made a short stop, without shutting off the engine, where the road splits down to the East Fork or up to the lodge and then started off again.
All of a sudden as I start to pull away, Traction Control, Service Active Handling, Check Engine and ABS lights come on and the engine has a miss to it. There goes lunch.
I turn the car around and drop it off at Glendora Chevrolet to get taken care of. Can't wait to see what they find or don't find when they check it out. I never turned the car off and the service writer left it running as well so the service guys to experience it first hand and capture any and all codes.
With just over 11K on the OD warranty gets the bill for this one. I'll let you know what they find.

Same thing happened to my '08 Z...it was a loose plug wire(s). I was on the verge of getting it flat bedded and realized the truck operator had no idea what he was doing so I politely told him to go away.
I checked the wires myself and found two of them were almost dangling from the coil packs. No dealer intervention necessary...

It does that to protect the engine. Just happened on my 2010 Avalanche. Ended up being throttle position sensor, and misaligned cover plate. Do you know what the code was? No big deal.

BINGO! WINNERS!
I got the call from the dealer to come pick it up it was ready. Seems the #4 plug wire fell out of the coil and that was throwing the car into a tizzy. Since nothing has been done to the car since it left the factory the assumption is that it just wasn't seated properly and it took 11K plus miles to shake it loose.
Well at least for minor issues so far Glendora Chevrolet has done right by me.
Guess I can make the lunch run later this week because the weather is just supposed to get warmer. Maybe I just have to go topless.
I forgot to mention this line item:
"Perform CARB'S Tire Inflation act #AB-32. Check & Set air pressure in front and rear tires. Required by California Legislature #AB-32."
California had to pass a bill to get a dealer to check your tire pressure?

Good, no GREAT, deal Byron. I've always felt that if there's an engine problem and it came on fast like your problem did, it's usually something real simple. If it's a major problem, you hear it (that's real bad), see it (that's not good either) or feel it (real bad too). Who'd a thunk to check the plug wires at the plugs and coils with a new car?
Have fun on the lunch run.

You might want to carefully pull each wire to inspect the contacts. A few of mine were corroded pretty bad on the coil pack end of the wires. I ended up replacing 3 or 4 of them with 2 of them being real bad and 2 of them questionable.
I might have a couple spares hanging around that I can no longer use, PM me if you can use them.
