Transparent Top Removal
I do not have a lot of squeaks and rattles as of now because I do not take the top on and off a lot.
Will repeated action of taking on and off cause more squeaks and rattles?
Thanks

For that matter, why not just park it in your garage and leave it there so that it never needs maintenance, or gets dirty, or runs the risk of being hit by another car?

I take mine off all the time and I have no noise whatsoever when it's on. And I agree with Red Racer. It's a completely different experience with the roof off. I love summer nights with the roof off.

I haven't taken the top off the 2012 yet but I had it on and off my 2007 more times than I can count. I never had a problem.
Just lube the weather stripping and the contact points every so often and you should be good to go.

Don't know about that but I do know that if you don't drive around with the roof off whenever possible, you're missing out on one of the fun parts of driving a Vette.

Buy a tube of tune up grease. Lube the weather seals and the sockets for the alignment pins. Also the small rollers on the cam locks. This is covered in a GM TSB that has been posted here on the forum. This is suggested maintenance even if one doesn't make a habit of driving with the roof panel off when conditions permit. The grease is also used to lube the striping on the hatch. Many miss this.

Hint:
Get a pair (or two, if your wife/GF helps you) of loose cotton gloves with those rubber gripper nubs.
Avoids scorched fingers, dropped tops, fingerprints.

Burning Brakes
This is a noise I can smile about because I know that its not hurting anything and nothing is about to break, snap, explode, fall off, or shoot through the hood.

On the rare occasions I drive around in my Vette with top on, windows closed and sound system off (in other words, total silence) I sometimes (not always) hear other sounds. So I turn the sound system back on or open the window and listen to the engine.
