Just be careful on stock tires if you have a GS/Z06. You'll be the slowest car on the road in a decent amount of rain.

The only reason I ask is while I was searching for my new vette, I saw several which said "Has never seen rain". I also know my CFO will not drive his in the rain under any circumstance.

Never quite made any sense to me, as I do apply water when washing the car... so what's the difference?
heh You don't think he let it sit do you? The piney woods get it's fair share of rain. Too bad the cfo where you work is missing so much fun. The Corvette is a great rain car when driven properly.

did rain spoil the paint on any one of your other cars?

Did you ever watch "Bues Brothers 2000"? That's what happens to some cars when it rains!

To OP, I dont drive mine in the rain. I would rather use my Ford F250 4x4. Also, rain = for me... no top down!!!

I drive mine anywhere except snow. It should be noted they do suck in a heavy rain. Look at your tires and you will see why. Given the choice, I jump in my new Ford Exploder in the rain. The SYNC in the new Fords really suck.

Some of the ultra performance summer tires have very little capacity for water evacuation and therefor are skittish in the wet and much more prone to hydroplaning. Purchase tires for your anticipated driving use and the rain is no issue.

If you are still running original GY they were the real issue along with extreme cold. Have the new pilots and never even think about either.

If that was true, I'd only have 2 vettes (like my screen name). My black beast got caught in the rain today.

My car is a warm/dry-weather, top-down, pleasure cruiser.

I have used the wipers so infrequently that I have to admit that every time I do, I have to re-learn the procedure.

Fortunately I can still open a beer.

I drove mine in the rain for the first time, yesterday. It shrunk...and now I can't get out.

Some sort of trick question ? why would you ever drive your vette in the rain ? mine is only used for good weather days. My murano does all the hard work.

They actually talked about this in a seminar today at the bash. They said the sun does much more damage to the paint than rain does. They were made to drive in the rain.

That is the key...Driven properly.. The few times I have seen Corvettes crashed and on the side of the road have been in the rain or after a race on the highway. One thing is for certain, each and every time the drivers thought they could handle it.

For the record if my Corvette was my only car I would drive it in the rain and snow. However it is not my only car, and I have other vehicles that I would rather drive in the rain.

600,000+ miles in Corvettes as daily drivers since 1990 - I have, likely, 30,000 miles in the rain, perhaps more.

If rain won't hurt your Mercedes or BMW or Audi or Cadillac, Ferrari, etc., why would it hurt your Vette?
