Clear Bra installed on my '12 GS Centennial Coupe
Thom at Pro-Tect Mobile (DFW area www.pro-tectmobile.com, goes by Texas Venom on this forum) just finished up a Clear Bra install on my 2012 Grand Sport Centennial Edition Coupe. It looks GREAT! If you would like to see the car/finished product/quality of work, etc., it will be on display in the Vendor area at the Lone Star Corvette Classic http://lonestarcorvetteclub.com/cont...item_id=199271.
My "mandate" (actually my wife's) to Thom was "no seam lines" and I've gotta tell you, he LIVED UP TO IT! Seriously. Of course, to do this, I had full panels covered, not half panels (other than the hatch, but that's along the striping). Had a buddy look at it last night, he couldn't see it, he wasn't able to determine which panels had it, even after I told him where it was. It looks REALLY good. Now granted, I had full panels done, you should see the fenders (remember, GS, it has the "gills"), they look awesome!
Areas I have covered:
-front bumper (full panel coverage)
-hood (full panel coverage)
-front fenders (full panel coverage)
-rockers (full panel coverage)
-rear quarter panels/brake ducts (full panel coverage)
-roof (full panel coverage, to keep the same look as the rest of the striping)
-halo (full panel coverage, to keep the same look as the rest of the striping and to protect the 100 Years sticker)
-rear hatch (just the striping, to keep the same look as the rest of the striping)
-mirrors (just the forward-facing strike zone)
I decided to cover the Centennial Edition stripes, otherwise they are not protected. The film creates sort of a ghost outline/pinstripe around the stripes, I like it!
I know, I know, there are going to be a bunch of naysayers/detractors, I could care less about your thoughts, keep that to yourself, this thread is not for you (unless you like being an a$$, which seems like a trend around here, sometimes LOL), I like driving "grandma's plastic couch cover / car condom, etc..." LOL
I bought the car to drive the pi$$ out of it and it's my daily driver, getting ready to go on at least a 2-3K mile road trip in a few weeks along the Gulf Coast with the wife. I tend to have bad luck with road debris and have already had front-end damage from road debris (in the first 2K miles/2 months). You know what REALLY sucks? Having your car in the shop getting the damage fixed! So, at least I've got some piece of mind (well, what little of my mind is left LOL).

Finished (I still have to put a few coats of the sealant on it and it needs to cure for awhile, but here it is, just freshly done, there are a few areas that need to totally dry out, but that is to be expected, oh, any dust/specs you see are *on top* of the film, wind was blowing during these pictures):

Good decision on your part and something you won't regret. Everyone says the installer is the key and from what I've seen here on the Forum, Pro-Tect Mobile has a stellar reputation. The pictures reinforce that.

Thom did my GS CE, with the exception of I had him leave the stripes uncovered. He did an excellent job. Just dropped it off at the dealer to get an E-Force installed and some new wheels I picked up thrown on. Hopefully put some pics up on Sat when she's ready.
The film sure does give peace of mind and cleaning it is as easy as soap and water.

Wow, kind of like vacuum bagging the whole car, what did it cost?

I put two coats of the sealant on last night (great workout! LOL) and I took a few pictures of the car outside today at the office, I really like how it turned out! Pardon the backdrop though, that's the cleaner's behind our building...

Hey Brad, the car looks great. Happy I was able to get you taken care of BEFORE my vehicle got stolen last night. Fortunately I had taken all of my installation gear out of it so nothing lost except the Jeep.... and a lot of film.
I really like the film over the stripes. It looks different than Slick's car... would be good to see the two cars together for a photo shoot. I will touch base with you next week. Have a safe trip.
