It was a "SETUP" by the TV station. DAH !! What better car to use then a Corvette. Some people just don't get it, and there it is in black and white on video.

Do you think that was the only corvette ever left there? trust me he has done it to real corvette owners before. Hauling lumber come on . he's use to treating customers rides like crap.

I think the point is that this piece of sh.t drives customer cars not just that corvette. If he drove my SUV while away it would be no less of a violation. He ahould be charged with auto theft.

True, but the discussion is about this Corvette left there as a setup, " If you're stupid enough to leave your baby at a place like that,....you deserve it " has nothing to do with what the TV station was trying to prove, and I'm sure this is not the only lot owner who does this. It is probably happening all over the country. This a$$hole is just one that was caught, and I'm sure there are other expensive exotic cars left in these lots also.

Default Take The Beater

I'll be leaving the Corvette home and taking my good old, faded '87 S-10 truck for them to race with. I love that old truck and wouldn't want them driving it either. Good idea to jot down the mileage on any car when leaving it any where, even at a dealership.

I bet he will get some maggot lawyer who will point out that there was no contractual stipulation stating that he cant drive the cars left in his possession.

OR something like that..........

Has nothing to do with anyone being stupid , or wether its a Corvette or a Chevette when you pay to have your vehichle stored , parked or housed you have a reasonable expectation that your vehichle should be housed and kept in a reasonably safe environment, bad enough you always have to worry about thieves or maybe even disgruntled employees, but to have to worry that let alone the owner of the parking lot someone whom I would think would want to protect his business and keep customers coming back or have a good word of mouth reputation is the actual thief, I can only hope that his business is severely destroyed and that there is some sort of legal action taken against him. but to bash car owners i find that to be ridiculous, most of us have to leave our cars in other peoples hands at times maybe to make repairs, the dealer for service work etc and we like to know that after I drop my car off it doesn't get abused.

Even dealers do that crap. I had a turbocharged Avalanche that I brought into the dealer for catalytic converter replacement. I always snap a pic of my mileage on drop off. They put 30 miles on my truck and gave it back with broken pistons. They flipped the high boost switch and didn't turn on the methanol injection. They actually tried to pass it off on me. Idle was rough and it was smoking. They didn't even want to pay for a new motor. It was the Chevy dealer in Mission Valley California. I finally agreed to paying the labor. I was getting out of the military and they had me over a barrel.

Moral of the story. Record your mileage AND tell them you recorded the mileage. Keep them honest.

Doesn't have to be. That permission has to be actively granted, not actively denied. And then there's the fair expectation of the service. Doubt anyone is actually going to sue though. Most people get pissed and then let it go.

I had a guy let some girl rev the **** out of my G35 Coupe that I had parked in a lot years ago. I only saw it because I had to double back. I don't trust anyone with anything I care about anymore. I'll valet my RX350 all day long, but nothing I have an emotional investment in.

Jerk. I'm in awe that he thought the owner would not notice the mileage.
