Wide body conversion

Why do you want to do a conversion? Nothing to gain, "looks"? I would not purchase a converted car. Lowers the value and you pay to accomplish the devalue.

all forum sponsors. Don't listen to the nay sayers, it's your car, do what you want to it. I did the full body conversion, and so have a lot of other members. Mine is paid for, who cares about the value of the car? it's not for sale, even though I have a list of people who said to let them know if I ever decide to sell it.

I'm doing it this winter. I looked at buying a new GS, but for what I owe on my car and what it's worth, I figure I will have the same thing for about $25000 less. I already have the suspension upgraded, so body panels, brakes, wheels and tires and WaaLaa... GS, or Z copy. I like the Z fenders better but I won't put Z badges on it. And no I'm not sellin either.

I agree. My wide body is being installed, should be painted starting this week. I don't plan to resell the car, and if you do want to sell there are private buyers that would love to have the kit installed. dealership, probably not and you would lose resale value. But you save a ton of money. Can't wait to have my car back after 2 1/2 months. Also, check Carid.com, they have pretty good prices as well.

Just 2 cents from seeing the threads on Duraflex product.

Get OEM parts, never think of getting from any other vendor, except ss-vette and supervettes, I just did my wide body, picked up the car today

Body kit, wheels, tires, brakes...with me doing the painting I figure $10-12K depending on the wheels and tires.

Corvette recycling has them for $4500 for the zo6 with CF fenders, slightly less for the GS, and about the same for the ZR1 with aftermarket fenders. I think new from the parts dealers about $6k for the Z pieces, about $5k for the GS. Last time I checked. Then it still all needs to be painted....

I did it on my 2010 coupe and I'm very happy with the outcome.

The body shop is doing a lot of extra fitment and stuff so its looking pretty great. Everyone has there opinions about products though, but so far it is looking pretty great for me. Guess it depends on the skill of the installer. He has taken his time with it and it looks fantastic so far, should get painted this week. The pic above looks great!
