Great race, gotta love beating BMW.

Corvette Racing may just be on their way to dominating GT2 like they did GT1.

corvette comes in 1st and 2nd. terrific move by magnussen in the 2nd place car. near the end of the race he was running 3rd after a full course yellow had all the cars stacked up. in front of him was a bmw in 2nd and the #4 corvette, with gavin, in the lead. magunssen passed the bmw in the "cork-screw" turn with a brilliant move that put lots of space between the gavin and the rest of the field. wow!

It is too early to tell imo. BMW is real quick if there were another 5 laps, they may well be or at lease one of them will be in first. They have the pace.. Congrats to Corvette Racing.

It was a brilliant move. You see how he setup the BMW by going outside and that forces the BMW to defend and he just followed the prototype on the inside for the pass.
This was almost as good as the duel he had with the Flying Lizard Porsche couple years back where he got put into the wall at the finish line? That was memorable.
It looks like the Viper will be joining the malay next year.

he'd had a lot of trouble at the curve but this time when he went in hot he used that p car to slow himself and make a tight turn forcing both to the outside and then another p car followed him out of the turn creating a virtual road block in front of the bmw. still can't get over it.

Congrats to team vette. Nice so them back on top again.

How long do you think it will take before the other teams start whining like babies that the vette needs a weight penalty or further intake restriction?

And how long before their petulant pleas are granted?

I predict short periods for both.

I was just thinking the same thing. I guess last season it was OK for BMW to be allowed to run what basically amounted to a GT1 spec car against everybody else's GT2 cars on route to the title. I think ALMS should hold off on any changes to any team at this point, the GT class is the most competitive class in all of racing at this point in time. The parity I saw at Sebring was incredible, the Ferraris are very quick, but still a bit new, as is the Aston Martin, and the new Porsche is still being dialed in. The BMW' are probably still the most dialed in cars in the class, with the Corvettes right there, and it will only get tougher when the Vipers enter the fray, any team that underestimates them will be making a big mistake. Congrats to Team Corvette, and let's hope we keep things going this season.

I'd like to see that happen, but that GT class is ultra competitive right now, and you could see any of about 7 or 8 cars win any given race. Take the 2 BMWs, 2 Vettes, the Patron Ferraris, Flying Lizard and Falken Porsches, and the Prodrive Aston Martin, and for good measure later in the season throw 2 new Vipers into the mix, and you have some really serious racing. It gets even better at LeMans in June with all the European teams showing up as well. Hopefully Team Corvette will keep on doing what they're doing now.

it was hair raising watching the last 12 minutes after the caution, traffic helped the second vette....I saw the pass on the BMW, was only about 50ft from it...Congrats to team Corvette.

The cars were at Road America the week before testing and they were careful not to wreck the cars becasue the two cars that raced yesterday are the same two cars that are going to LeMans.
