Does anyone know if both use the same exhaust? The camaro seems lower with more of a growl to me.

not the "same" exhaust, as the mufflers wont interchange from one car to the other. they both use valves in the exhaust like the zr1/z06/npp

the ZL1 exhaust stays open at idle closes around 1000rpm and opens up at i think 2750 rpm. (lower than the vette)
the ZL1 still uses the same set up to control the valves as the vettes you can pull the fuse to keep the valves open.

we have even put a mild to wild switch on a ZL1, works perfect
the fuses are in the trunk on the camaro instead of under the pass side floorboard.
