I sold my 2009 C6 ... goodbye Corvette.
Well, after two C6's since 2004, it was time to say goodbye and try something else. No real complaints, but I felt it was time to move on.
After mixed results listing it here and on AutoTrader, I finally had a local guy, who knew the car, buy it. I did get just under retail book for it, at $38,000. That was the best offer I was able to get, and much better than the AutoTrader offer to swap for a modified pickup truck.
I did order a new vehicle, which will not be here until the end of April. I went with the new 2013 Porsche Boxster S, which is all new and quite an improvement over previous versions. Certainly not as fast as my C6's, but still capable of sub 5 second 0-60 times and 13 second 1/4's. The build quality impressed me, as did the feel of the car and its nimbleness on the road. Seats were fantastic. Only time will tell if this turns out to be a better choice for me or not.
I had already decided that the C7 wasn't for me, at least not yet. After it's had a couple of years under its belt, I may revisit it ... but not now.
I'll still hang around the forum and contribute when I can, so I won't just disappear completely. It's been fun and I've met some really great people here. Now, just don't call me a "C6 hater."

Thanks for posting Stan, you are way beyond even using the word "hater"! You will love the Porsche, an engineering marvel and a real drivers car!! All the best, you will be getting it right when the NH roads are ready for you, drive and enjoy in the best of health!!
Hey Stan on another note, is NH a taxing state? Something tells me it's not but if it is can you asl the dealer to run your C6 throught their books so you can get a tax credit or is it already sold and gone?

Good choice on the Porsche Boxster, I like the new look and as you know the performance and build quality are part of the package, when you buy Porsche. Enjoy it.

Back in '75 I traded my '73 Stingray vert for a '75 2.0 914. Loved it and got great mileage during the "gas crisis". About 8 months later traded that for a '75 "brass hat" 911S Targa, followed by a new '76 911S Targa that was one of my favorite rides. Incredible build quality & performance. I think the update on the Boxter turns it into a mini Carrera GT. Good luck with your new car.
P.S.: You must carry a German firearm in a German car. Back in the '70s I always had an HK P7 M8 in the P-cars. I have a SIG P229R (.357 SIG) in our M-B. In the C6 it's a S&W M&P .40 S&W.

This is America and we all have freedom of choice. I for one think that we should 'Buy American'. Support American manufactures and support our economy. Way to many 'Hondas and Toyotas' in the US.

This is basically the car I've ordered. Nothing until late April or May though. Given that's it's been 26 below zero here, I can't say I regret the delay.
