I was reading a thread earlier that said you can clean the touchpad on teh door handle if it is losing or has lost some of the sensetivity. Does anyone know how to clean the touchpad? I tried looking in the FAQ sticky section but was unsuccesssful. My C6 is a 2006, I bought used, so I'm assuming it could probably benefit from a cleaning. Thanks!

Are you actually having issues? If so, for less than $20 per handle you can just get new ones.

I cleaned mine, helped for awhile then i bought new ones from stealership for under $13 EA.

Make sure to put a coating like WD-40 on the contact areas after cleaning, this will keep corrosion from happening again, especially important in humid climates.

I honestly wouldn't recommend WD-40 as a contact cleaner. It is petroleum based as I recall, it collects dust and can be flammable.

The only reason I recommended it is that it works so well to spray on the inside of a distributor cap (remember those...LOL) when condensation keeps an engine from starting. I was thinking that since the switch is fairly well sealed, dust wouldn't be a problem. It would do a good job of displacing water (humidity) to keep corrosion from happening again. There are certainly many contact cleaners that are purpose made for the job...I was just suggesting something that might already be in the closet.
