NPP conversion
If on my 2011 that came w/o NPP I installed the NPP mufflers (appears to be $288.00 per side) and the NPP In a Box would I have everything that comes with factory option performance exhaust?

Moral of story--- make sure you get NPP on your Vette when you buy it.

Like you saw in my cars, the NPP or the dual mode exhaust standard on the Z06 or ZR1 has inputs from the RPM that will open the valves automatically at 3500 RPM (3000 for the Z06 in Comp mode).
To my knowledge the NPP in a box will not provide that automatic operation. I believe you'll be able to open or close the valves whenever you want with the M2W controller, but I don't think you'll have any automatic operation at any particular RPM.
Is that your understanding?
Also, I was looking at NPP in a box from a couple different places, and it appears there are a couple different options.
One is an electric vacuum pump, and the other is where you tap into the car's vacuum system - either at the stock place on the rear of the engine, or the other taps into the intake plenum for a vacuum source.

That would be important to me. Verification anyone?

It's my understanding that if you purchase something like this:
http://www.nakidparts.com/id78.html
it includes the switch, but I'm not 100% positive
"Just install the NPP mufflers from GM add NPP IN A BOX and you will have a fully functional NPP system that will use my Mild2Wild (included)."

The Exhaust Commander from http://sunsetorangecreations.com/ has an RPM capability in one of it's kits, the M2W does not have RPM control capability.

I really don't get the need to open at a high RPM.... I like the fact I can have it quite all the time or loud when I want... I like the sound at idle open... closed it sounds wimpy... if it gets too much drone, I can close... It is real easy to live with a on or off switch.

My mistake--- THAT is the discount! The price per side is A LOT more than that:

It's one option I wish I had. It really should be standard IMO.

I bought a used NPP muffler and a mild-to-wild switch. That's all I needed. Even though the mild-to-wild switch came with a key fob, I synched it to one of the wireless buttons on the driver side visor.
Now, when I wanna go loud, I just hit the button on the visor. I think I have about $1,000 invested in the whole thing.
If you are going to do this, however, and you are going to buy new NPP, check the B&B Fusion exhaust system. There are quite a few threads on here about it.
It's the same idea as NPP but it's made by B&B and IMO, a tad louder and a tad better made. The B&B system comes with it's own mild-to-wild controller, so that ought to figure in your price comparison.

Then you should ride with someone that has RPM opening, IMO it's the most anoying feature of the car, especally to people standing outside. Just getting on any exhaust will sound more aggressive, but to each is own

Wait.. so just get NPP mufflers and M2W switch? No NPP in a box? I thought you needed that to control the actuators.
