Corvette carbon fiber
Hello all
A couple of months ago I bought a c6 z06! My first vette. I am loving the car but I have noticed that there doesn't not seem to be a lot of real quality carbon fiber parts available, most specifically in the interior. I have worked for years selling carbon fiber parts through my buisness for Bmws, but now I am looking to do the same with corvettes. I have a friend who works at a company producing aerospace grade carbon fiber. I am looking to design and sell carbon parts with them. I just wanted to throw this out here to see if there is any interest on here for these parts to find out if it is worth making.

Tough sell when the Hydro Carbon looks close and is 70% cheaper, you know what most members are going to go with.
Plus we do have a quality c/f supplier...APSIS and yes, it isn't cheap.

There are some great carbon fiber parts available, Apsis, APR, RPI, LG Motorsports, Caravaggio, etc. Not trying to discount you but letting you know. Yes, it is not cheap but Carbon Fiber is not cheap to make. Plus a lot of vette guys won't pay for it if they can get Hydorcarbon for a lot less. Some will even mix it! Yuck, I would never buy Hydo but that's me. Good luck There are some of us that appreciate and know the difference.

i know there are plenty of great exterior carbon fiber parts available that is not really what i wanted to look into, i have noticed that for the interior there are only a few people such as apsis and caravaggio that sell carbon interior parts but what I have found is that they are incredibly expensive. I come from the BMW world where there are a lot more available and for much cheaper. I am not positive but I think I may be able to make these kinds of parts for corvettes for cheaper. All I am trying to do here is see if there would be anyone interested in buying such a product and if there is then I would look into it and find out if I could do it for cheaper then others.

a good example of what i am talking about is that you can buy a factory hydro carbon console and it is something like 750 dollars, i can buy a real carbon console for my m3 for 500 dollars

Make real carbon pieces. Not overlays or wraps. I don't want one dash wrapped around a second dash. It's the worse of both worlds. All the expense of carbon with the weight of two dashes.

Here is a good place for the interior carbon bits, by APR performance: http://carbigncraft.com/index.php?ro...facturer_id=16

Go for it. Competition breeds better products and prices! Keep us informed. After you get up and running maybe become a forum vendor and/or contact as many Vette clubs as you can to get the word out. Good luck!

We all know it would be a big investment for you. And Everyone knows the Vette market is one of the largest for mod'ing. You are almost guaranteed to get business if you have a quality piece at a lower price. Many Vette owners like and want Carbon pieces. If you produce a "Quality" piece at a "competitive price" it would seem like a win win for both sides.
