Best new Tires????
I'll have to be getting new Tires soon & hope there are better Tires than what came Stock on my '05 C6 Coupe.
Run Flat's or not Run Flat's? What Tires would you recommend?
I would like a little better ride if possible. I drive from Palm Springs, Ca. to the the Beach alot & the Freeway's on the way thru Beaumont, Banning & parts of Riverside are so rough it's obvious why so many people have 4X4's & SUV's. You almost need a Tank to drive on those Freeways!
I don't have the Z51 or the adjustable Suspension. Still have original Run Flats on my '05 C6.
Appreciate your feedback in advance.
Thanks,
Lucky

After researching the forum for recommendations....I just put on a set of Michelin PS +ZP a couple weeks ago. They ride a lot quieter than the original tires. I do have the Z51 package so I was replacing the original supercar tires that were on it. Of course if you don't care about run flats there are probably choices that will give you an even quieter ride.

Put Michelin A/S ZP on my C5 years ago and recently on my C6.
There are several reasons including Chicago weather (I drive in it.), the run flat concept makes sense especially on these cars, and the ride is improved as demonstrated by no bumping and twisting on tar strips and road cracks at higher speeds.
A general driving improvement is felt immediately after they're installed.

But I'll give you my setup. I run the RF GY tires in the summer and am satisfied in every way with them. Here in Chicago, those tires won't hook up in colder weather, so I do a seasonal change for the colder months to a set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus ZPs.

I changed from runflat to non runflats. Ride is so much better.
I'll get a flat for saying this, but I've yet to have a blow-out or quick flat on any car since I've been driving in 1973. I've had tons of slow leaks from picking up nails though.
I do carry an air pump, and patch kit in the car...just in case.
just finished a 4500 mile trip, and never worried about getting a flat tire.

I went with the Michelin Super Sports. The choices are even less for us wide body guys. Very good handling and much quieter than the Goodyears.

Put a set on a few months ago and noticeable improvement in ride over rough roads.
I switched from the OEM GY GS-2 tires and don't notice any loss in grip as much as I push the car on the street.
Do a search and you'll find a lot of positive posts/reviews on this Forum.
Good luck whatever you decide

Last year I ditched the Goodyear run flats for Firestone Firehawk Indy 500's non-run flats .No cabin noise, smoother ride ,better handling and at $1300 with alignment out the door for all 4 it was a no brainier since a set of new Goodyear run flats alone was $2800 .If I get a flat I'll call AAA .

Replaced factory Goodyear runflats with Continental Extreme DWS tires Dry Wet Snow All season so far so good.
Also these Continental Extreme DWS tires are the least expensive of all tires in cost.
I would say it comes down to how you drive your car and or what you will use Corvette for.

Same situation as you with 2005 but I don't drive those kinds of distances that you do.

I just replaced these tires with Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval RFTs only because I wanted to go back to a run flat. I bought a set of 4 DWS tires for under $800 and they were good for about 35,000 miles of daily driving. Great choice if you don't want run flats AND you want a great all-season tire
I went 44,000+ on the front Goodyears that wore out first. Rears were still good but I replaced all 4 at same time.
