Paint the ugly plastic rear diffuser??
My best buddy owns a body shop.... today we were looking at the ugly plastic rear diffuser (part that holds the reverse light and surround exhaust) i think thats what it is called. Im thinking about painting it jet black to match my roof, halo, tints, black calipers, black barrel in the wheels, and black tail lights.... Keep in mind total cost of this job is $0. What do you guys think to paint or not to paint? Heres a picture of my car as she sits now.

I think you should do whatever you feel comfortable with. It seems the money or lack of it is no problem in your case. Personally, I like mine stock black with Areospace 303 applied to it. The 303 really brings out a deep, rich black color, which goes well with the Arctic White paint and the rest of my car.
Just my $.02...but as I stated, it's yours...be happy!!

I painted mine gloss black to match my halo, window tint and gloss black third brake light. The car looks so much better now. The factory flat black piece cheapens the look of the car in my opinion.

I think that it would look good painted black to match your halo.
It doesn't look bad now and most people might not even notice it, but I would go for it if I wanted to try it.

I have a gloss black roof & halo too -- and think the diffuser would look great gloss black to match -- do wonder how it will hold up though with debris being thrown up on it by the rear wheels.
also find it ironic that while I was on C5 general for 4 years one of the most popular mods was plasti-dipping the rear lower fascia -- just the
opposite of what you are talking about... guess the grass is always greener.......
not knocking your idea -- I think it will be great from an appearance standpoint

That my friend is a good point and one that never even crossed my mind.... If I go ahead with this ill have my tint guy though a clear film over it for added protection. Good call

Honestly , the defuser looks alot better than the defuser on alot of cars out there , just don't paint it the color of the car. Makes the back of c6 look like a c5.

I guess to each their own. I have seen it painted and it can look good but when the C5 was current a lot of folks went after the contrast look, my self included.
I went from this:
To this:
I don't consider the rear diffuser ugly at all in fact I like the way it looks from the factory. I know lots of folks seem to take the position that if it's OEM, it must go. Not saying that's the case for you Sal but if GM had body matched it, folks would be contrasting it.

I agree with you Paul... I don't want to paint it silver like the rest of my car.... I want to paint it black for even more contrast.... The plastic just looks to full and doesn't POP enough for me.
