Default Great Road Trip!!!

I just finished cleaning up the 05 C6 Z51 after nearly 3000 mile road trip. I now have nearly 105,000 miles and have enjoyed every one.
Left Las Vegas and headed north to Casper Wy. via Salt Lake and I-80 to Rawlins, Wy. Spent a couple of days in Casper spoiling grandkids and then on to the Sandhills of western Nebraska to get another son married and spoiling more grandkids. Headed north from Nebraska to Rapid City, SD. Played golf and left some money in Deadwood, SD. and drove the Hills. Great place to tour.
Headed west to Devils Tower via I-90 and got tired
of that real quick so started taking side roads. Much more fun Brief stop in Gillette WY. and then headed for the Big Horn Mountains via Buffalo, WY. Drove through the Big Horns in the rain with the windows down. Gentle rain and beautiful crooked roads and scenery.
Entered Yellowstone National Park at the East Entrance toured the roads and Old Faithful. This part of the trip was impromptu and I finally found a bed for the night about midnight, a hour from the West Entrance.
Headed back to the Tetons and Jackson,WY. and more winding mountain roads. From Jackson south to Bear Lake and then down Logan Canyon, if your in search of a beautiful drive, this is the place. Followed back roads to Salt Lake and got back on I-15 and south back to Vegas.
I have had so much fun touring with this fantastic car, I've replace the plugs once, about time again, had the 6 speed trans wear out the main shaft, evidently B/W didn't mean for the T56 to be driven for high miles. I still get nearly 31.5 mpg on the interstate at 80 mph and nearly 28 mpg driving hard on winding mountain roads and after learning the hard way in the first 15,000 miles that the wheel alignment should be done once a year and set for driving not racing the tires will wear almost as long as cars that aren't nearly as much fun to drive.
Enjoy and PEACE!!!

That sounds like a very memorable trip. I can't wait to be able to get mine out for a week or more and just enjoy the scenery.

Sounds like a good trip.....have been on several of the roads you traveled. Beautiful part of the country. And a great car to do the trip in.

They are, indeed, amazing touring cars. Docile when you want it and wicked fast and go cart cornering when you feel like it.

It sounds like you enjoyed it. There's some really scenery in that area.

Now that you've learned to avoid Interstates whenever possible, you'll have even more fun.
US and State highways are the real spirit of America. County roads are the heartbeat.

My Grandfather used "AH pshaw" in place of "Bull___t". If you look up the definition it is : Used to indicate impatience, irritation, disapproval, or disbelief. pshaw [pʃɔː]. interj. Becoming rare an exclamation of disgust, impatience, disbelief, etc.
My last name is Shaw and I always thought he had created his own word. I have heard it used by very few people but once in awhile some one will see it on my license plate and know what I am saying.
