Default Bose stereo

I have a 2005 vette with bose system. The sound never was great since I bought it used in 2010. Now, it seems, the amp kicks in sometimes when I hit a bump. Sounds like a bad ground or loose wire. Where should I start?

I pretty sure parkewj is looking for the location of the amp or where it may be grounded...

The amp is located in the passenger footwell to the left of the fuse box. To access, pull down the panel at the front of the footwell.
