Fluid Stains Grand Sport Calibers
Has anyone else had any problems with their 2012 Grand sport calibers or any calipers on their vette? We bought a new vette and the Calipers appear to have fluid Stains on them. We took it back to the dealership and had it looked at and the service worker asked what we out on them. It is a Callaway so he said it would be a Callaway issue. I saw another Grand Sport on the Show room Floor showing the same signs as ours. It's not callaway upgraded so just wondering.

Thanks, I don't know if it is just certain ones. the GS I saw had the Same Calipers. Don't know what the deal is just maybe the finish on them. It's like what ever is on there is Varnsished on there. Can't wipe it off. Crazest thing I have ever seen didn't happen with our other GS. Kind of spent a bit more on this one so not a good thing to see.

Looks like break Fluid. The passenger rear looks really bad. Our friends noticed it. We bought it at night then the next morning saw it. Very disapointing Waiting on a answer from GM.

Wow, that looks pretty bad. I don't know how I would cope if that was my Caliper
If you can't get anywhere with the dealer, I would buy a can of brake cleaner, get a few old rags, take the tire off and start scrubbing. If the damage is not repairable, consider having them powder coated.
BTW - I used photobucket to upload pics. Once uploaded, copy the image code for the pic and paste it in the post. Let us know how it turns out. And post pics!

Thanks yea it is pretty bad. Dealership has contacte GM. we will have to see what happens. I have another pic from one on showroom floor. I took it as proof if i have problem with getting it taken care of. Only had the car 2 weeks so not to happy about it.

That is not a mfg defect, so I'd expect a no from GM. Someone, probably the guy that washes cars at the dealership, used caustic wheel cleaner & what you see see are the results.

Sorry you got the run-around from the service worker, as it is definitely NOT a Callaway-related issue. I agree with what the picture shows, something was sprayed on your wheels, which in-turn, leached onto the brake calipers, staining the finish.
In the meantime, please refer to the Corvette Owners Manual, specifically section 10-82:

The smart thing you did was take a picture of the one on the showroom floor, which proves it wasn't anything YOU did. GM might not fix it, but the dealer had better.
