Default Painted brake calipers - anyone sell them?

Hi all.

2007 C6 coupe with stock suspension. I would like to replace my brake calipers with painted brake calipers, color Monterrey Red.

Don't know anyone in the DFW area who can powdercoat the calipers and don't feel comfortable pulling the calipers myself and then doing the brake bleed process.

Looked into painting them myself but don't trust myself to do a professional looking job.

Does anyone know who might sell calipers already that are already painted?

Thanks

Mike

You CAN do it yourself. The calipers do not need to come off. I've never tried it either until a couple months ago when I did mine. It's pretty fool proof as long as they are clean before you start. I did the brush-on paint instead of the spray on. There was no need to mask anything off but the pads. It's really easy and they turned out looking like a pro did it, which I am definitely not.

I have theirs on mine. And love them. They are so easy to keep clean now.

I ordered red calipers on my 2013. I love the look.

My son and I have painted many of his cars calipers, all red. It is very easy. You have to clean the calipers real good. We then used the brush on method. We always did 2 coats. He usually left the car in my garage for 24 hours for them to really set up. The last ones we did, he drove the car home after it has sat for just 4 hours. No trouble yet out of that car.

You can do it. 4 jack stands, all 4 wheels off, clean each caliper, then go to painting. Go sit and rest, put the wheels on. Let the car sit 24 hours, then have fun driving.

I used TPSMak too. If you can't do the work, have a mechanic change them out for you. I've done about 10 brake jobs in my life, so this was a piece of cake. I changed my rotors and pads, flushed the brake fluid - all in the same job.

if I can do it, you can do it - as long as you are able to take the wheels off you'll be fine, no need to remove the calipers

West Coast Corvettes (www.westcoastcorvette.com) has them in thier catalog; powder coated calipers and brackets. Don't know if they have all the colors, or not. There is a core charge, refunded when you send your old ones back.

Easy to so if you just take our time.

The best way to go is to have them powder coated.

My thanks to those who took the time out of your busy day to respond. I will check into the websites you recommended, and also reconsider the painting thing. Perhaps that's the way to go as I'm not completely comfortable with rebuilt calipers. The car sits in our garage anyway, and I have a torque wrench to reapply the lug nuts - maybe that is the way to go.

Thanks again, everyone.

Mike

powder coating require complete disassembly (which amounts to caliper rebuilt) of calipers since only metal can be powder coated. Way easier to remove the caliper off the bracket and paint them, way cheaper too.
