New car for wife
Last Friday the wife and I headed the local chey dealership to drop off some saints tickets to a salesmen whom I became friends with. I will try to keep this short, last yr. I tried to get the wife in a new c6 but didn't want one and had to have a camaro. She knew I hated driving the camaro and bitched everytime I did. As we are pulling in the lot I seen a vette and asked if she would like to look at one, to my surprise she said yes. After a quick look over and a test drive she said I want one and by the time we got back they was closed and he was ready to go home. So on the way home I asked why didn't you want one when we got the camaro. Her answer was I thought they would ride like yours (c5 z06), I said you didn't want to test drive one then cause you was sold on the camaro fever. Left for home then online to see what kind of deals are online to get a fair price on one before we head back. I found (2+1) at another dealer and all had the same options at a great price, Cyber Gray (MSRP $53675. buy price $42105.), Black (MSRP $53675. buy price $42105.) and a surprise. Monday at my local dealership (manager) would not match price even on a order. My salesman/friend said jump on it from the other dealer so we did. When we got there someone just paid for the Cyber Gray so we was left with the black. Salesman gets the fob and it would not turn over then a jump start, still no go. Meanwhile they wanted to get started on the paperwork and I said no until we test drive it. After a hour passed went outside to see how they was doing with getting it to run and as I am walking to the car I can see a white spot on the door edge where the tech opened it into a concrete light post. Both the salesman and I knew it would hit the post if open all the way, oh well I walked back in and said this car has a omen and not for me. They said don't worry we will take care of it and check on whats the problem why it would not start. He came back and said tech said the bcm had corrosion from moisture and had to be replaced. My reply was it located inside and just another bad omen that this is not the right car for us as I did not want to deal with a electrical gremlins that could happen down the road. So I told him them I was ready to walk and the manager walked up to me and said we just got a Crystal Red (MSRP $54525. buy price $42836.) over the weekend and just had to make sure it wasn't sold. I said great bring it around for us to look at it. End of story it has a new home and now I get to visit both the c5 & c6 forum. Oh and as we were leaving the wife said did you notice they were painting the concrete post(lol)

Great story!! Enjoyed reading about your experience. Too bad about the CGM one being sold right out from underneath you but I guess that one wasn't meant to be either. Good call on not moving ahead with the other one...ya never know and you would always have wondered. Congrats to your wife and you too! (funny that she caught the guy painting the post; he probably touched up the door on the black Vette too!)

Looking for another toy, found one but not completely sold on the looks and it looks like a single seat. Gotta have my partner with me.

I came close, but you are a nicer husband than me. Last week I took my SRS in for complimentary maintenance and sun roof seal replacement. She presently has an STS and I asked if they had the new XTS in the rental fleet. I drove away in a pearlescent white with cashmere interior like my wife had in her previous one.
When I arrived home and she saw it I told her we were trading her STS on it. I always pick out her cars or she would be happy with a Cruze. Her only concern was could she see to back it up. Showed her the large nav screen in reverse and I knew she was in love.
Guess I broke her heart when I told her we had to give it back because she mentioned to our son-in-law yesterday how much she liked it.
Now go remind your wife what a nice guy you are!!!
