08 LR magnetic ride shock replacment
Helping a friend change all fluids and filters on his 08 C6 and have discovered the LR shock is making a mess and dripping on the floor. There seems to be a wire on top of the shock. The shock has Delphi on it.
1. Do you just replace the one shock and where can we find one?
2. The one viedo i watched showes removing what looks to be a tie rod end to be able to get the shock out, it it necessary?

Typically, these are replaced by the pair. Any forum GM vendor should be able to source these, but high $$. Many have replaced their mag shocks with regular shocks. Corvette recyclers such as AEScorvetteparts, or corvetterecycling may be able to find you some. E-bay may be another source.
To remove the shock without the need to compress it, the upper control arm can be removed. I changed all 4 of my regular shocks by compressing them, then using a large zip tie to keep them compressed, so as to be able to remove them without undoing the upper control arms. The install was the same. I compressed the shock, zip tie, then put in place, then cut the zip tie to expand the shock into place.

Compounding your situation is that the 2008 and earlier cannot be updated with the revised calibrations by the man who designed and tuned this mag ride system. If I had a genuinely leaky one in a 2008, I'd be looking for alternatives (like Bilstein or coilover conversion). That's unfortunate, too, because I love the mag ride in my 2011 Grand Sport. My 2010 ZR1 had it also along with the updated calibrations, and it was fantastic.
Best of luck with whatever you decide.

Just a FYI, but the MRC shock fluids have a lot of iron particles in them, since is how the shock works.
So any fluid that you thing that is coming out of the shock, collect it on a paper towel, then take a magnet to the towel to see if you can pick up the towel with the magnet.
If magnet will not pick up the towel, due to the iron partials that is in the MRC shock fluid, then the fluid is not coming from the shock.
As for if the shock is really leaking, then as stated, try to find the replacement shocks (that are going to be spendy), or just convert the car back to conventional shocks like the B6 or B8 shocks.

If you eliminate the mag ride shocks you either have to plug cheaters in at each corner of get a GM Tech2 to reprogram the module. Otherwise you will have messages on the DIC. Not sure if there are any more serious consequences.

Does the electrical unplug cleanly from the top of the shock, see some advertised without the wire.
Should I put a WTB below for a 15944610?

Not sure about '08 but for my '13 mag ride is F55.

F55 is 2009 and newer. There is no retrofit or backwards compatibility because the control module is different. @Jim Mero can confirm.

There seems to be some confusion between RPOs F55 and FE1 thru FE4 so here are the 2008 RPOs (the year the OP's question concerns)
F55 CHASSIS - CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE REAL TIME DAMPING MAGNETORHEOLOGICAL
FE1 SUSPENSION SYSTEM - SOFT RIDE
FE2 SUSPENSION SYSTEM - RIDE, HANDLING
FE3 SUSPENSION SYSTEM - SPORT
FE4 SUSPENSION SYSTEM - SPECIAL RIDE & HANDLING

I was mainly referring to the control module. But thanks for the clarification.
