just another example of whats wrong with this country these days. The money from the sale of such a vehicle could have been used more appropriately.

The ZR1 is being valued at $80,000 and will eventually be sold on auction; the money will go toward replenishing the department's aging fleet.

So what you are saying is that the ZR1 cost the tax payers 0 $'s?
A loaded new police cruiser would cost $35k. Costing taxpayers -35k.
In 4 years they could sell the Zr1 for about 45-50k, netting taxpayers 45-50k.
A loaded police cruiser would re-sell for 10k, we would still be 25k in the hole. This is a simple math folks.
Dope dealers ex vehicles need to be more prevalent.
Some folks love the make something out of nothing.

First, Just seizing it is a deterrent to other potential perps.
Second, the public relations value is priceless. If you are trying to reach children and teens with an anti drug message this car will get there attention like nothing else.
Third, the color scheme is probably a "wrap" that can be easily removed and was propably donated. They are very inexpensive.
Forth, you can't beat it as a pursuit car!

I think thet should keep it! Not costing taxpayers. High speed pursuit takes on a whole new meaning. They can use it to go to schools and get LEO's more involved with kids. Should be quite a conversation piece!

Personally, they should have let me design their graphics/wrap. Haha!
Second, if it was confiscated, then i don't see any money wasted other than the routine maintenance of such a high end vehicle. But as one posted stated, it could be a nice conversation piece at the local schools while conducting police/children interactions on safety awareness etc.

One thing that has not been brought up is that it might not be all that easy to sell it quickly. Who has the title to it and how does it get transferred to Clayton County? Somehow I'm guessing that is not a simple process.
