Great ET's and MPG's ... Trip to the drags...
Made a 100 mile trip to Beech Bend Drag Strip in Bowling Green KY yesterday.. This car still amazes me even after 4.5 years of owning it.
Its a Stock 2008 430 hp A6 2.56 gear car. Made 6 passes on the 1/4 mile. Five of those passes were between 12.12 and 12.20 at just under or just over 118 mph. On one pass the car got out of shape when the A6 hit second gear, think there was liquid on the track.
Temps at the track were in the low 60's with nice crisp fall air. For the hard core racers the DA was at +200 to +400 feet. Thas pretty good for Beech Bend.
Maybe the best part about the trip was the gas mileage. Its a 200 mile round trip. The MPG's for the whole day was 28.5 including the 5 1/2 quarter mile runs.. That just blows me away. BTW the dic was at 31.8 when I arrived at the track and dropped down to 25.6 after the runs. On the trip home, it climed back up to 28.5... I had 93 octane NON-Ethanol in the tank..
Here is a link to one of the runs. Its me running my son in his drag car off a .5 pro tree. He spanked me off the line.. I went 12.13 on this run at 117.83 mph...

Where else can you get a car that runs low 12's and great gas milage. These cars are something else! My stock '08 ran a 12.23 at 116 and change at Numidia Dragway at about 1800 DA. I tried again some time later when the weather was cool, but the stock runflats couldn't take it, and my '60 was way off resulting in a 12.30 ET.

Corby, my 60 ft times were all between 1.938 and 1.970 All MPH were between 117.56 and 118.18.. The car was really consistent...

The second time I ran, the temp outside and the track temp were too cold for runflats. Just purchased a set of Michelin PS2's, non run flats. I'll put them on in the spring and see what happens. I'd really like to put a set of long tubes on and maybe some gears and try and scrape an 11.

I too am impressed with the performance of these cars, especially when the weather is cool. My 2010 A6 NPP ran a best of 12.12 @ 119.2 mph in the cool September air, with just a Vararam intake and 160 T-stat.
