I don't let them touch it. When I get my new ones home, I always clay them first, then do a total detail (wax, sealant,glaze,etc.). Dealerships can ruin the paint before you ever get your hands on it. And some are worse than others.

In the past, other brands/dealerships I would visit would look incredulous when I told them I told them I DID NOT want their "complimentary" wash after service. Should be called "complimentary swirl mark insertion"...

Got my '12 GS at MacMulkin. Not sure what they did, but was nicely detailed when I picked it up, and looked great.

It's garaged, and only put about 2400 mi. on it since March, so all I have had to do is wash a few times and keep at it with the detail spray when I drive it.

Mine car was bad. They said they had nobody to clean it. It was a Sunday. I told them I would get the car on Monday after they cleaned it. They wanted me to take the car after signing the papers. I told them it would cost $200.00 to detail the car. They gave me a check for $200.00 and the keys. It took me around 8 hours to detail the car, but I guess it was worth it for the eztra $200.00.

Bought my 08 from Purifoy Chevrolet in May. It was detailed to the max in their Corvette showroom so I could inspect it completely. On my 12 mile drive home it rained, got to detail it same day myself

Same here! They did nice job, no scratches or swirls for a dealership detail! Very happy with how it turned out!

^^^ That...on every new car I've ever purchased...but in particular for my 08 Vette. My only complaint was they didn't index the windows and left it outside in the spring...pollen had coated the inside of the car.
