Pin Stripes????
Has anyone, or know of anyone that has done any pin striping on their C6? I was thinking about some "tasteful and subtle" pin stripes on the hood (down the cowl line). My car is LeMans Blue and I was thinking about silver or gray, as I said, I want them to be very subtle. My car has the Z06 air inlet on the front bumper, although it is a base model 2005. I always liked the looks of stripes coming down the cowl lines on the hood and continuing into the bumper around the air inlet...
Any comments, or better yet, pictures. Thanks

Personally I like pinstripes... BUT, only on certain cars or trucks, I have been detailing cars for 30some years and people always ask me about this. I can truly say a Corvette has classy lines that paint a perfect picture. Although every person is different with taste there is a reason you don't see many Corvettes with pinstripes.
Im sorry if I offend anybody here and this is just my opinion and I don't mean to bash on this. I have a jetstream blue 'Vette and I love a little red to accent it but I could never pinstripe it.
Just my opinion but it is your car so personalize to the way you see fit, but please don't have them painted on,use tape this way if you don't like it or get tires of it they will come off easily. Good luck

I've had nothing but compliments about these painted stripes. Thanks for the kind words.

The pin stripes surrounding the main stripes were used to cover up and hide the transition between the clear coat that was applied to the main stripes and the hood paint. And I think they improved the design.

It's this kind of crap that gives Corvette a bad name......
You will rarely see a Porsche or Ferrari done up like some of the Corvettes out there.

I'm thinking of having him try something similar on my 427 Vert because I hated the black vinyl heratige thing but like the idea of a subtle outline of the raised hood buldge. The striper pointed out that if the stripes look crappy you can always wipe them off and even later they can be removed with no damage but takes a bit more effort. The hood is the only thing I'm looking to stripe however. Hell, it's your car.. personalize it if you want. Go crazy on the inside of the hood if you want to show it. JMO

Give it a shot if you have access to an expert pinstriper. We have one in the Denver area. I recently saw his work on a 07 LB/titanium-black interior and it won show trouphies and it helped it's resale. The stripes were very thin and unfortunately I don't have a photo but as I recall he only did a single row of double or triple striping on the base of hood break as shown on the white car in this posting and he used I think two contrasting colors..grey or gold and black, may have been a very thin red as well. you couldn't see the striping until you got close but it really seemed to fit.

Pinstripes should be confined to suits.
