Default removable front license plate for carbon fiber splitter 427

here are a few pictures of the front removable license plate for your review Jim-Dave.
Let me know if you have questions.
I had to drill out the rivets and move them to the 4 open holes and put in new rivets and it fits great, very happy with now.

Jim...got the video...thx

Roger...can you explain what you mean when you say "drill out the rivets and move them to the 4 open holes"?

CO is a front plate state but they typically don't hassle you. With a vanity plate I kinda like having the front plate on. I also have the CF splitter. I have not really liked any other product out there. I also have curb alert mounted in the center front, so putting a typical plate on the nose would block this. Just entertaining the idea with what looks like the best looking plate mount.

Thx...Dave

Dave,
I also have the curb alert and that is why I went to this plate plus it is very easy to remove for shows, you bracket may come in fine and not need to have the rivets moved, mine for whatever reason needed to be moved by me and I think it is because of the front splitter on the 427, I don't think it was originally made to fir on our front splitter, but could be wrong, if you are handy with a pop river gun and a drill it is a 10 minute fix and you have a great front plate holder.
see pictures attached.
PM if you have specific questions,

PM if you have specific questions,
Took me a little while to figure out what you meant about the rivets...got it now.

Last question...I noticed the assembly that mounts under the car (the piece the plate inserts into) has two front mounting holes. When looking under the car inside the splitter opening I only noticed one existing screw that isn't being applied to hold the splitter. What are you using to attach the front of the bracket?

I'm going to go as long as possible without the plate. Will resort to this as the best solution if the time comes to add one...thx

that is correct only one screw, but it holds in it just fine.
there is one screw underneath you remove and then put it back in to hold the front of the bracket, the rear portion goes over the skid bar and a bolt holds it in place.
if you have a curb alert this is the best plate holder out there that I could find, where no modification is needed.

Jim,
check out Southern Car parts on the forum they have the curb alert and is pre-wired for the C6, pretty easy to put in, in fact there is a great video on the forum here I used and I will forward it to you this morning.
I think it was $149.00

Thx on the bolt question.

Curb alert is nice insurance. I can't recall what fuse I wired this and the mild to wild to. The way it's wired my curb alert remains on approx 1-2 minutes after shut off. Also, with the trickle charger on my curb alert is active, no big deal just a little annoying when u walk by.

The last (4) digits of the vin# is the sequential order of production aka your 427 build no.

The engine builders name is located under the red engine cover on the passenger side of your motor.

A little info on a used 427 convertible I saw last week please. It is white with no stripes 7k miles asking $63k. It is a 1sc. last 5 on the vin 00348. What exactly is a 1sc and how does it differ from other 427 packages? How about the striped white ones vs plain. Were the stripes something you could have ordered or is that a completely different model? Looks to be in great shape but the brake rotor hubs are badly rusted on all 4 wheels. On my C6 the rotor surface rust but never the hubs. Is that common? Thank you for any info.

Thank you very much. Extremely helpful. It looks like this would have been a $90000 window sticker car. When I asked the salesman about the white with the blue stripes he said come back next week we just took in another 427 Convertible with the stripes and very low miles. I asked him what are these guys trading in 1year old beautiful 427 convertibles for. He said C7's my friend C7's. They still have a brand new white ZR1 that is very heavily discounted and he thinks they are pretty much stuck with it now that the Z06's have been announced.
