Default Help me find some new rubber bands!

Hey folks, need advice on tires. Bought the below wheels last year for my blacked out vert, finally getting around to actually put them on

Anyhow, they're 18x9 and 19x11 ... wanting to get Nitto Invo's (from all the great reviews and the fact that the nitto's on my Jeep last forever). But what sizes are people running and why?

I would check the tire rack site if I were you. It list the wheel size, spacing and tire sizes. ex: 18x9" would take 275/40/18 and 19X11" would take 285/35/19

This of course depends on offsets etc, to guarantee the correct fitment inside your wheel wells.

Good Luck.

If you're making any sort of power at all the Nitto Invo's are junk.

You'll need to decide on what you're looking for....from the sound of it you want good mileage out of your tire rather than performance, in which case the Invo's are a pretty decent option.

Personally I'd look at Hankook Ventus V12s over the Invo's. Perform better and still offer good tread-life.

I would think that the 285 size wouldn't be wide enough for an 11" wheel

The car is gonna pretty much be a trailor queen if I can keep her that way. I've owned her for 2 years and its got 15k miles on a 2005 c6 if that tells you anything.

The recommended sizes are an 18x9 front rim with 245/40 tire and 19x10.5 rear with 285/35 tire. From what I under stand you need to keep tire diameter the same so the active handling does not get confused.

Stock rears are about 1 inch taller in diameter than fronts. So if you switch the rears to 295/35 (because of the 11inch wide rims) you probably should switch to 255/40 fronts to keep the diameter difference about the same. But going odd sizes might limit your tire selection.

Thanks for the info, that helped. Do you know if there is a way to mod the active handling (software wise) other than turning it completely off? I ask this because I was eyeing a set of Hankook 285/30ZR18's for the front and 305/30ZR19's for the rear.
