i have a 2005 c6, i have only had it for 2 months, i am doing a complete brake job. the new front and rear pads came with a clip that was not on the car when i disassembled the brakes. the one for the front has 4 finger looking tabs on it. i can not figure out where to put this clip. can somebody please help me this? the rear clip i think goes in the window on the top of the caliper from the inside, is this correct?

The tabs on the pads fit into the slots on those clips. The clips snap into the calipers. There are some videos on youtube that show how its done.
