You can set it in the DIC, read your owners manual, it will tell you how.

While the Oil LIfe% is displayed press & hold the reset button for several seconds. It resets to 99%.

Other members stated how its done, you're good to go.

BTW politely inform the dealer's Service Manager you expect this be done FOR you next time you're in their store for an oil change.

On our 2006, if I went to Elapsed Time, then hit Reset for Elapsed Time; it would reset the Oil Life Remaining to 100%. You should have seen the Service Manager's face when I showed him that one!

I've been told they fixed it on other years, but haven't tested it on our 2009 yet.

You never know what some dealers will do, but have always been good about mine. I change the oil in my daily car, and the DIC is easy to reset. Buddy had the dealer do a wheel rotation on his wifes car, and they forgot to reprogram the TPMS sensors. The wheels were reading the wrong locations, and had to take it back.

On the C5s, you could just pump the gas pedal three times... C6 you need to use the DIC.

On my early 90s model T-Bird, I don't have worry about pushing silly buttons or resetting anything. I just wait until the oil looks like black molasses and I know it will need to be changed the following spring.......

It takes a whole 5 seconds to reset the oil life%, just another reason why nobody works on my vehicles.

On a related note, the dealership (Jag) I bought my '08 from did an oil change and forgot to reset the oil life. Was wondering what the average mileage is for changing the oil with Mobil1. Usually do 3000 miles on regular oil in my other cars.

Depends on how hard you drive your corvette. With short trips, aggressive acceleration and stop and go driving, you should figure 5,000 to 7,000 mile intervals with a synthetic oil. Long trips, less agressive, easy, touring style driving, you could get by with 8,000 to even 10,000 mile changes. I change the Mobil1 in my 08 generally about every 5,000 to 6,000 miles.

I laugh when I see Goodwrench adds saying you should take the car to the dealer because they are trained to work on your car blah...blah...blah - but I am yet to take my DD to a dealer who will reset the TPMS after doing a rotation for me (even if I remind 3 times to do it for me).
