This is discouraging news to hear. I just picked up a 2010 with 10k miles and it has new GY EMTs. Is the general consensus, a street alignment with Michelin tires?

The C7's scheduled for 2013 are being equipped with Michelin SS in the same sizes as the C6. 18/19 on base and 19/20 on Z51 cars, same exact sizes. Maybe we will be see a better more affordable tire in the future as they develop them for the bigger wider sizes as well.

I won't be able to say for awhile because I haven't driven the car enough to start wearing the tires. Soon

i read about ALOT of folks having premature tire wear so i watched mine real close. ALWAYS had 30 (Would warm up to 32) on my gauge and DIC and measured once 1 week. So... when i saw strange wear i went to dealership. They checked aligment and said it ok.
Of course they said, dont know why. That was at 4K miles. I went with Nitto Invo and have stock stored. Plus i did PFADT street aligment at a good shop just in case.

Bad wear pattern seems almost NORMAL from all the discussions i have read. Only it seems random who gets that bad wear and whom doesnt.

This is the odd wear on 3rd rib at 4K (of only 1 tire, all rest were fine)..

Normal wear on other 3...

forgot to mention.... when i had dealership check tire/aligment, i checked tire pressures again when i got the car home. It had 37 in all tires!!! I called and asked why. Service manager actually stated.. "because thats what the corvette tech expert likes them to have". HUH???????? so when they warm up they will have 37 i guess.. lol Reduced pressure to 30 after they cooled down and ordered my Nitto Invo!!!!

That is unbelievable! Putting 37psi in a factory spec of 30psi has got to be outside a normal variance. And that would lead to wear problems.

I am telling you right now, if you went to the dealer or a GY center with 37psi and center tire wear like in your pic, they would say, sorry- your fault for over inflating.

I was thinking of buying a new '13 GS from Tommy Jr., but it looks like it'll cost me $150 in tire wear just to drive it back home..
