Im looking at buying an 08 C6 but I would like to know what options the car has. I think it might be a Z51 car because of the drilled rotor but I think they are simply aftermarket replacements for the base package car. I can provide a vin if someone can tell me what options the car has. If someone can give me a GM VIS report that would be better.

Check the sticker in the glove compartment - it has all the RPO codes for everything that was built into the car.

Copy them down, or take a picture with your iPhone, then google "2008 Corvette Order Guide" and you'll see what each of the RPO codes indicates - Z51 is obvious!

If you have a good relationship with a GM dealer, you can get them to print a list of equipment on that specific Vin # and they can also print a service record of all GM repairs on the vehicle. I've used my local dealer for this purpose several times. I think the service history is very important so that you don't buy one that has been in 20 times for all kinds of problems. I never buy a Corvette without this info.

Coding the option package number (1LT, 2LT, etc.) into the VIN didn't start until the 2010 Model Year.

However, as BEZ06 has indicated, all of the 3-character RPO codes will be on a sticker on the left inside of the glove box door. Those codes are in alphabetical order. The 1LT, 2Lt, 3LT, or 4LT code will be near the bottom of the list.

Yes, the GMVIS report would be ideal.

Not until the 2010 model did the VIN indicate the model, but in 2010 the fifth digit denoted the model/equipment. Also the VIN Decoder I post is accurate for ever C5 or C6 I have ever checked.
