Does anyone have any experience with removing the back glass on a C6 hatch?

I'd be interested in knowing the how and difficulty and if someone also knows the weight of the glass, as compared to the whole hatch with glass still in?

I would contact a glass company and ask them. I don't think it is something you would do on a regular basis.

I had mine removed for paint. Have it done and re installed. I would say the glass is about half the weight of the hatch. If you do remove it you will have to replace the rubber around glass.

I lost the rear glass in an old Fire bird. WARNING Do not open the hatch with out the glass in it. Without the weight of the glass, the hatch will pop up and take your head off and twist the frame. BE VERY CAREFULL!!

I would not attempt messing around with auto glass. Go to a professional (Safelite). Anytime you remove auto glass there is a chance of leaks.

Call your local body shop and see who does their "cut outs". Most body shops do not do their own. Your high end body shops will remove glass to paint to get no tape lines around glass. They will give you a price for the complete removal and re install. The rubber will be seperate
