I agree,a good locksmith can get in any car.I'm thinking it was either broken into at the lot or some dipstick mechanic broke it by mistake.

Sorry to hear about your problem. Hope it gets squared away soon.
Once you get down here check out Circle City Corvettes. It's the local club and alot of us are retired military. We even have some flight instructors at Ft. Rucker.

not for nothing but several years ago when I was at a Blockbuster some schmuck broke both of my windows on my 70 coupe and the glass pieces did damage to both the paint on my doors as well as scratches on my seats. Hope that did not happen to you...

Well, the whole thing sucks about that dealership ... but I don't think that WOC school at Rucker is even going to let you drive for the first part of the program anyway.
Maybe I'm wrong?

What a bunch of azzhats. They are either truly incompetent or liars or both. I wouldn't let them replace the window - who knows what else they'll screw up? And I'd go over the car with a fine tooth comb before taking possession of it. Obviously, they owe you a loaner as well. Post the dealer's name to help your fellow owners avoid these idiots. Good luck.

I know people would roll their eyes and laugh or possibly say I am a hot head but I would be in that dealership fighting back every urge to choke someone.
I would demand to know who locked the keys in the car, who broke the window, who gave the authority to break it, why they didnt tell me and how they plan to make this better. Also ask why they didnt just use the vin to get a new key cut.
I also would report them to GM. This all may happen after I break my fist on someones face.

I would want to see the car at once. It would not be the first time that a dealer smashed a car and used a lame excuse to try and do the body work before the owner finds out. If it is only the window, it is a stupid inconvenience, if it is more than the window, you should know about it. It sounds like they know you are leaving town, so I wouldn't put anything past them.

You really should get on the horn with GM customer service about this.Forget for a second they broke the window, A CHEVY DEALER DOES NOT KNOW ABOUT ONSTAR? CANNOT CUT A KEY??? RIDICULOUS.

I have never heard of anything so ridiculous. They definitely should have called you before doing ANYTHING to your car. You could have had a second FOB.
I think they might have broken it another way and were to embarrassed to admit it.
In any case, it is their responsibility to see that you have a rental at their expense for as long as you need it.
