Default 427 suspension

Have been scouring the CF and the internet with no success so far. Does anyone know how much the 427 convertable shares with the Z06 in the suspension department? I did read where someone else asked whether the suspension pickup points were the same but I did not see an answer to that either. We know they share the same drive train and brakes. They both have magnetic ride either stock (427) or available as an option in the case of the Z06. Still trying to figure out if the only difference between the two is the frame. Input appreciated.

I believe the difference is in the frame. Sways, springs etc are same.

Default 427 suspension

I have both a 2011 Z06 with MSRC and the 2013 427 Convertible and the convertible rides a little "softer" than the Z06 in my opinion. Don't know if due to the added weight or if set up differently.

Looking at your Avatar, do you have a 427 vert in Inferno Orange with CFZ and ebony interior and a Carbon or InfernoOrange Z06/Z07?

Aside from suspension tuning, the frame material is the basic difference, the only other relative difference dealing with the chassis is the way the upper rear control arm bolts in, but they use the same arm.

Chassis pick up points are the same.

The 427 has the same frame as the C6 Coupe ...... feel special now?

I thought that the 427 Vert used the GS's suspension.

Wondered who the first jerk would be. Guess you take the honor.

I do appreciate the informative part of your post however. Shame you had to spoil it.

Appears as though you are glad to be first so this proud win probably makes you "feel special" now.

FWIW, the search engine in CF DID NOT bring up any threads with the subject of the 427 suspension comparison to the Z06, so I have no way of finding the posts you are referring. Glad to read any you wish to post links to. I am still interested in exactly what is the same and what isn't.

I'm pretty sure the 427 is a convertible GS with the Z06 drivetrain (the GS already shares the Z06 brakes). And I think it's a good thing, since it's more of a GT car than a track rat. And judging by 'norlem' comments, who owns both, that seems to be true. That's also why I bought a GS CE (with MRS), since the Z was too rough for the wife. And wasn't going to track it. The 427 should be perfect in the suspension department for the ultra great majority of buyers IMO.
