Question about a 2011 GS trade in
I know the C6 will take a hit when the C7 come out by like anything there is always someone who is going to be in the market for them even though its not the newest so my question is if my father wanted to trade in his 2011 victory red grand sport 3LT package with 3000 miles on the car what would be something reasonable he would or could get? Are there dealerships taking trade ins for used ZR1s?
I see on cars.com that dealerships are asking 57-58k for ones that have 4800+ miles on them.
Its never been raced or tracked or driven in rain. He would consider selling outright but would like to trade in on a used low mileage ZR1.

Unless I missed it is your dads car a Convertible or Coupe? The prices of $57,000 to $58,000 are high for a Convertible, so if its a coupe you need to keep looking and you will find used 2011 GS Coupes 3LT, with less then 5,000 miles for under $50,000. If its a Convertible you can find plenty advertised for $52,000-$55,000. This is typical retail so it depends on what additional options your 2011 might have.
There are plenty of 2012 GS Coupe's 3LT used 3LT for $52,000-$54,000 and some new left overs for $55,000. Again depending on options the price can be +/-.
Prices will only dip so much but we really need to see what base price is going to be for a C7. You should be safe for 8-12 months. Most are going to want over MSRP for C7's and the good guys will hold at window sticker. However they will not put strong money into the trade, figure on average black book on a trade. If you compare apples to apples a C7 Coupe, 3LT, Wheel option, Suspension option, NPP, will more then likely MSRP for $68,000-70,000 depending on GM packaging, Convertible add $6,000 to the above figures. With that being said thats a big price difference from $50,000. So when you talk about "taking a hit" it can only be so bad. I think the GS market will stay pretty solid overall. Many people will wait a year and let the market settle out and work the bugs out.

I just bought a 2010 gs vert with 11,00 miles, 4lt with nav for 47.
Prices are dropping, and will continue to do so for a while before they stabilize.

This price thing is always extremely subjective. Depends on where you are and the time of year. Asking advise here is only going to get a guess at best because of same. But, you already knew that (i'm also guessing).

If you want the largest "range" of prices for your dad's car, and ZR1s, just ask here. But if you want more specifics, you're going to have to give more specifics, and that includes location, when he expects to buy, free and clear title status, financing or not of new-used car, etc. Otherwise, it's just a lot of "numbers." Some of which are meaningless to you and your father.
Sorry if that seems harsh, but that's my opinion.

I paid under $58k new for my 11 GS Vert, 3LT, chrome, NAV, NPP. Auto. That was with 2 miles and about 18 months ago. I had about $4500 in GM/USAA credits as well as $3k loyality
I would guess high $40k, low $50k range now on a trade.
I can tell you my friend bought a 10 ZR1 with 10k on it for $80k last summer. Red, 4LT, NAV. I almost feel bad for the poor sap that bought it new for around $40k more.

About 41-43k would be trade in value. I know that sounds low for a car that had an MSRP of around 65K new. The problem is, that the dealers are discounting (along with rebates) heavily on new '12 and '13 Corvettes. The big discounts and rebates on new make the used that much less. It's all relative.

Just bought a 2011 Gs Vert White loaded 3lt 6 speed NPP red and black interior, has 7500KM on it for 53,400 up here in Canada they command a bit more than USA prices, Would hate to know what i would get on trade in i have only put 100KM on it ...
with that said I love the car and plan to keep it for a long time, and i would sooner put a edlebrock SC on my GS before buying a ZR1
