Default Performance Chips/Modules from JET

Is anyone using the Stage 1 or Stage 2 performance chips from Jet?

I used a stage 2 on my last turbo car and noticed the difference with chip but that car was modified. I want to run the stage 2 on my stock 2009 base vert but their website says "requires use of 91 octane fuel, 180 degree thermostat and free flow exhaust" I already run premium fuel, the stock thermostat is 187 degree...so the only other variable is exhaust? Any risk with a stock exhaust system?

I tried searching but couldn't find anything specific on the subject.

You can get a mail order tune for around $150 (forum vendor), or a street tune for $300.
That's the way you will have to go.

First I've heard that chips "are a scam" for the C6. Are you guys just chip haters or are you saying they don't alter the transmission shift points, A/F ratio, and produce more power based on controlled tests (e.g. dyno)?

I do not know much about tuning...but..the chip thing works only in the earlier model cars, before 1996, which had a PROM in the ECU. After 96 the computer has to be programed with a computer.
There are guys here that can be more pacific, but that is about as tech as I can go.

You got it. That is exactly what we are saying.

What you want is a tune, and you can get a custom tune for your car and your specific objectives for just a few hundred dollars from a lot of Corvette shops or by email from the forum providers like Chuck COW.

If you don't want the pain of mail order or hassle hunting a turner. I just bought a Diablo InTune and so far I like it. Plus you have support right on this site from a couple of dfferent vendors, suppliers. Benefit of canned tunes, custom and returning car to stock and back again in a few minutes.

Don't think anything about it. Sometimes you're a smart azz and sometimes you're not. Don't take any of the answers personally. We have to break the boredom sometimes. Next time I might be the smart a.... it just depends on the key board.

I totally agree with you, their are a lot of smart-asses on this site. Usually I don't post a question. I try to find a similar question asked by someone else first.

Personally,I think their are a lot of whiners and a-holes on the Forum. But,then again, some have been very helpful. I guess don't take these old farts personal.

On the red area near the top of this page....you will see a 'Search' button. Type in the 'key word' and it will(or suppose to) bring up all the threads with that subject. A lot of new guys do not know this. Luckly for me, I read something like this thread and picked up on the hint before I asked a question that had already been asked a hundred times. That 'hundred times'....that's usually what will bring out the smart guys.
And you are right....don't take anything personally......especially if you get into 'Off Topic'. They will tear your head off and feed it to you if you start fighting back.
See ya.

Don't let it bother you. Ask anyway. I do and will. I had one nut that any time I typed anything on here was a pain in the axxx SA but he went away. This is suppose to be fun and informative. Lots of great info. I learn something every time I read any post/threads.

If you have question, dont be afraid to ask it. If someone is a dick, then put them on ignore. As Kechum says, this is supposed to be a fun site where we chat about our favorite things. The aholes that show up are just cowards who would never speak that way to you face to face.
