Default Airbag light on after going fast

I put the pedal to the metal and the airbag light went off. It disappeared the next time I started the car.
What gives?

It has happened to me also, 08 manual coupe, clears on restart. Some say it might be a wire harness under the seat getting pinched or pressured by the seat frame? Couldn't find anything. It rarely happens, so I not going to worry about it. Do a search, it's not uncommon.

This is a common problem. There are many threads about this issue, including some excellent pictures. All you need to do is zip tie the yellow connector very tightly that is under the rear of each seat. Move the seat as forward as possible and you will see the connector.

Most never see the warning light ever again after doing this.

If you get the airbag measage, it means that your airbag may not deploy if you need it too.

Mine had a bad sensor, and it would act up going fast, when you need protection most.

If taping the connector fixes it, it means you could have other bad connections in that connector. Personally, I would either fix/lube the pins in the connector, or get someone with the proper tools to do it.

And if it is under warrenty, get the dealer to resolve it.

Zip this connector. It worked for me. GM can't figure it out.

FLAME RED, thank you also for your help

Friday went from Ft Lauderdale to the NCRS 211 miles away, and every time the road made the car bump, light came on, and hit another bump light went off.
At the show picked up ties, and tied them has you showed in picture. Drove home another 211 miles, and later last night went to local show, with another 55 miles on local street, with no light coming on, thank you, that light was annoying light.
You hit right on the nose.
Thanks
Sandy

The way that I would test this would be to raise the seat up as high as it will go, (may be temporarily uncomfortable) and then put the pedal down and see if it still happens. This will make it much more difficult for the bottom of the seat to squeeze the connector.
