Default C6 Exterior Looks Better Than C7?

It seems to me that, purely from an exterior design view, the C6 is nicer looking than the C7 -- nicer curves, more integrated from back to front, sleeker and faster looking. I tried to imagine what the reaction to the current C6 would have been if it had been preceded by the exterior design of the new C7, and, maybe it's my imagination, but I think the excitement over the current C6 design would be even greater than the excitement over the new C7. My opinion is limited to the exterior look; the mechanical and technological improvements of the C7 are significant.

The C6 wide bodies are incredibly good looking cars. My three driving buddies all drive Aston Martin's and they are all very impressed with my GS. Granted I've done some interior mods but still they had no idea what a great car the 'vette is. The C6 will always be a good looking car. The C7 is also pretty damn cool, a bit busy yes, but it's also a good looking car and it appears all that busyness has a purpose which makes it even cooler.

Two weeks ago I would have agreed, but I like it more each day. I'm not going to run out and buy one, but I might when the Z06 is released.....

To me, the C6 is more an evolution of the C5. If the C7 design was "in between" the C5 and the C6,
I could argue that the C6 was going backwards (from an exterior design standpoint). I think the re-design
of the C6 to the C7 is the correct design sequence.

I knew the C6 was going to be hard to top. The C7 definitely looks more modern, but the C6 is the nicer looking car IMO. Timeless design, just like the outgoing Astons. The C7 will look old much sooner. Inside it was both an improvement and a step backwards. Hope GM gets the sales they want from the video-game generation. I'll skip it myself, but hope they gain more sales than they lose. I'll keep the CE GS for a while, then move on to a 991 911, which Porsche finally got right for my tastes (both interior and exterior).

That pic looks awesome! Only problem is, your not showing the rear view. And that is where the C7 fails. It's quite unfortunate...

Disagree, to me the C7 looks way more aggressive and from certain views an exotic look to it.

Pictures do these cars no justice. The wide body c6 is quite simply beautiful especially in person.
Having said that, whats unfortunate is so many people are stuck on one aspect of the car and cant see the forest through the trees. They are unable to appreciate the advancements GM has made with the Stingray.

The C6 is a beauty at any angle. The C7, not so much. That picture in this thread makes the c7 look great. The problem is when you turn it sideways and see that more then ugly roof line and the 12 million scoops and vents and yes,the rear end of the Camaro, it ruins the look of the car.I know the scoops and vents are functional but it doesn't make them attractive.Another thing,Exactly how many LED lights are needed on a car, anyway? They tried to make the C7 like the grand sport with the wide ***.They have failed miserably.Technology aside, unless they have massive rebates down the line or change a few things, there will not be a C7 in my future.

There are a lot of pictures that make the C6 look rather plain, just as there are a lot of pictures that make the C7 look too radical. On the other hand, there are plenty of pictures that make both models look totally badass.

My guess is the C7 looks really cool in person and thats what counts.

Totally disagree with you here. I think all of us Corvette lovers can appreciate GM's advancement in technology here with the C7. I for one love all the performance enhancements they made, and I applaud GM for designing a really nice interior for the car. But I want both a nice exterior and performance. The C6 had both, the C7 does not. The C6 with a normal interior was never a deal breaker for us Corvette lovers. We loved the exterior style and the performance was un real for the money. The C7 is different. We love the performance they claim, we like the interior now, and we like most of the exterior. But the rear is ugly, and this is a dramatic change, which is hard to get past. For a $55-60K C7 Corvette, you should love the exterior look of ALL of it. Not just have to let it grow on you. I really wanted to love the C7, but there is nothing getting past that ugly rear.
