2006 C6 1-4 Shift
I'm new to the Vette world. This 1-4 shift skip is annoying. To get rid of it, is it better to use the fuse method or the adapter at the transmission. What brand would you suggest?

I'm not familiar with the fuse method. You could use the skip eliminator plug and go or have it tuned out during your dyno tune if you plan to mod her. Hope this helps.

You can use a "smart" fuse, short it out (blow the fuse) and install in the under hood fuse box and your done.

I used the smart fuse back in 08 when I bought my car. It's been flawless. It's a LOT easier than installing a shift skip eliminator...

Doing the blown smart fuse is accomplishing the same thing as the cags skip fuse. I believe that they install a resistor in theirs.
The ECM or BCM, not sure which one, sees that there is a fuse installed, because both draw a small amount of current. If you pull the fuse out completely, a trouble code will come up.
I have had mine installed for three years with NO issues so far.

go with the fuse method
Just a vote for the simple 'fuse' method--don't have to get under the car, and resistor is so simple to modify and install--save a buck, you can always go the other way if you aren't pleased.

The Skip Shift transmission plug-in is cheap and easy -- $20 and 15 mins of your time (including the time spent putting the car up on ramps) and its all done.
The fuse method is cheaper, but may or may not work for you (didn't work on my 2012), and still leaves the skip shift solenoid wired in.
I've used the Skip Shift eliminator transmission plug-in for 10+ years on three different Corvettes --- NEVER a problem. The skip shift solenoid is 100% disconnected.
