Default Floor Mats won't stay in place.

I recenty purchased some floor mats from my local dealer. My vette had none in it when I got it. The two holes that are in it (on the drivers side) line up just fine with the posts that are in the floor but the mat will not stay on the posts. It keeps sliding of off the posts. Am I missing something? Thanks.

You are missing cocomats.com which I think are the nicest and classiest mats you can buy. I am just a satisfied customer. They fit perfect, and are color matched to my Vette. Beautiful.

The post on the floor has a "teardrop" shaped lip on top that you slide the hole in the mat over the long end first and push over the post. That tab holds the mat from just sliding up and out. Make sure your post's have this tab and they are not just broken off.

They must be boken off. I wonder if you can replace the post/teardrop?

What year?? If you have "holes" in your mats, then you need to have the hooks on the floor.. Mid 2007 they changed to the post and tear-drop tab style which is completely hidden under the mat. I have a 2007 with posts and tabs and the Mats stay perfectly fine. Are you sure you got the correct style mats?

Mine is an 2005. The carpet in the floor has post, not hooks. I ordered the mats through the dealer but that does not mean they got me the right ones.

I have a 2006 with the posts also. If you bought just a general mat not specifically made for the 2005-2007 they use a Grommet piece on the mat that snaps into place on the posts...I am trying to hunt down a set of cashmere OEM mats in any condition to take the grommets off the mats and install them on my new ones. Lloyds mats have a plastic tab that is riveted to the underside of the mat that clips on to the posts. Good luck

The mat has grommets, but they are a bigger diameter than the post. The dealer might have got me the wrong ones.

You definitely got the wrong ones! On my '05 the posts SNAP into the mat holes.which are a tight fit.

No doubt they sold me mats for a newer year. Oh well. Time to rig something.
