Default Heated seats not so hot?

So this question might only be answered by people that had an early C6 and now have a newer one.

My old C6 was a 2005 Coupe (bought new) with heated seats
My new C6 is a 2013 GS Coupe (bought new) with heated seats

I was driving around one day and I had the heated seats on. One click so it is on the hottest (red) setting. Although I did notice the seats were warm, it was not hot by any means and not as hot as my 2005 use to get. Does anyone else notice this? Is the heating element different in the newer models? Maybe the seat/padding/leather is thicker in the newer seats so the heat does not pass through as well?

???

I have 2005, and yes they are hot! Just ask the wife, cause she couldn't understand why she was burning up, she was playing with the buttons.

Yeah, in my 2005 they use to get to the almost "uncomfortable" amount of heat. My 2013 just gets warm.

I'll try the heated seats on my 2012 this afternoon and get back to you. The seats got very warm on my 2006.

My seats get quite hot on my 2006. Maybe they adjusted the heat levels in the newer seating style.

Okay, I live in the northeast and don't drive my vette in the winter at all. It just doesn't make sense to have heated seats in a Vette. So I asked Harlan Charles why they didn't put air cooled seats. His explanation was that there just isn't enough room under the seats to fit the system needed. Guess what the C7 has? Air cooled seats. Go figure.

That is because they made room for them on the C7. Something that probably wasn't easy to do on the C6.

Mine don't. The seats in my '12 coupe just barely get warm enough to feel it.

Remembered reading this a few weeks ago. I believe GM is being sued, could be the reason that they've reduced the heat. Although, I can't rule out a parts/supplier change...

We had a 2006 3LT, now a 2009 3LT. Both cars, the high position is really hot, and the low position is pretty moderate.

Both cars seemed identical.

the same seat heater part number is good for 2005-2011.

88993058 seat back 2005-2011
88993057 seat seat 2005-2011

unfortunately my parts look up only goes to 2011. but an interesting thing happens when you put those part numbers in for 2012, it then says...
Part Number "88993058" was found for CHEVROLET, but we could not verify the part fits the selected vehicle
and the same message for 88993057..

i agree it appears something changed after 2011

note added... the price also changed after 2011 (identical part number and price 2005-2011) so thats also a good clue
