Default Switchback LEDs

I received my Switchbacks today from Corvette Mods and will be installing this weekend. Is there any advantage or disadvantage to the hyperflash, or just a personal preference. I have the resistors in case, if I do install where do you guys mount the resistors being they get hot? Thank you!

Try it without the resistors and see if you like the rapid flashing or not. It's really just a matter of taste, you won't damage anything by leaving them out.

The best place I've seen for mounting the resistors is inside the engine compartment. Better airflow/cooling.

You have to extend the wire lead on the resistor to connect to the blue/white wire. The ground can be connected anywhere on the chassis that's handy.

You still need to insulate the resistor from the mounting surface. You can use foil tape and/or a stand-off to put a little air-gap under the resistor.

The hyperflash is a design feature to tell you when you have a burnt out bulb and so are not informing other drivers of your intentions to turn when you think you are. If this causes an accident ...

So the turns hyperflash, but not the hazards? That's weird. Do you have LED tails, by any chance?

I just bought the Eagle Eye tails (with 4 resistor boxes included), and was wondering if CANbus LED amber bulbs in front (turns/DRLs) would hyperflash or not.

Yeah that that a little weird too.
I do have LED Taillight, the halo with the resistors installed on them.i have the resistors for the front but wanted to see how they would be without for now.

Mounted my resistors on front support right next to headlight ballast.

Used 3M moulding tape and a little adhesion promoter.

Having LED tail lights will have no effect on the front DRL's.

I know, but I was referring to the LED tails having enough resistance to allow the use of regular CANbus LED bulbs in front without hyperflashing (that was the case with my BMW bike). If the resistors barely provide enough resistance, then they'd hyperflash.

You seem to totally misunderstand why the resistors are needed. The resistors are needed to provide MORE current, not less. The BCM is expecting to see filament bulbs that draw a lot of current when they are working correctly and no current when they blow. When the BCM sees too LITTLE current it changes to a fast flash to warn you that there is something wrong with the car. When you replace filament bulbs with LEDs that draw a lot less current it fools the BCM into thinking that the bulb is blown. You therefor add resistors ACROSS the LED to bypass the same amount of current that the bulbs took. That means the resistors will get VERY hot just as the bulbs did. You want LESS resistance in the circuit to fool the BCM, not more. All bulbs are monitored independently which is why you need a resistor for every bulb you replace. "Canbus" bulbs are just LEDs that have a built in resistor rather than an external resistor. They simplify installation and the heat is left in the bulb package where it was with a filament bulb rather than being transfered to an externally mounted resistor. They may or may not cause hyperflash depending on how closely they match the bulb being replaced and the sensitivity of the BCM detection circuit. The tail light resistors don't get nearly as hot as the DRLs because they are not used continuously during the day. If you drive a lot at night the tail light resistors will get just as hot and can melt just as much plastic.

You didn't understand my statement. The LED tail lights (including their resistors) in the rear will have NO EFFECT on whether the front DRL (using any LED bulbs) will hyper flash. They are independent of the rears.

I mounted mine on the frame rail flange with scotch 2 sided tape no problem in over a year now.
