Upgrade a base 2LT coupe to Z51 spec?

If you're talking about just the suspension and brakes then basically yes.
Z51 rotors and caliper brackets, springs (really only need the front spring), sway bars and shocks.
You might want to research the Johnny OConnell package from Pfadt. There have been several positive reviews about it here.
Or use Bilstein Sport shocks in lieu of the Z51 units, most agree a much better choice.

Non-suspension:
P/S cooler.
Oil cooler on stick shift.
Internal gears on the M6.
On 2008 and later- performance axle ratio in rear.
Most of the suspension mods are fairly easy and not too expensive.
Gearing changes are a $$$ PITA.

According to the 2008 Chevrlet Dealer Buying Guide:

Note: Not available wirh (F55) Magnetic Selective Ride Control. Option available with 1LT, 2LT, 3LT, & 4LT trim level groups.

Didn't realize there was that much more going on. That's why I asked. Thought it might just be a GM profit adder....
"P/S cooler.
Oil cooler on stick shift."
P/S cooler = Power Steering?
Oil cooler on stick shift. = Trans cooler?

Oil Cooler is an engine oil cooler, only on the stick shift cars because GM somehow thinks that people with the automatic don't run hard in the canyons or run on road courses.
The automatic tranny always has a (marginally adequate) tranny cooler in the radiator, the Z51 stick shift does not have a transmission cooler.

I did the suspension / brake mods on my 06, made a BIG difference. I did the oil cooler / diff. cooler mods on a buddy's 06 after he blew his stock rear end. We swapped out a zo6 rear and trans and added all of the coolers, lines etc.. We had to swap out the radiator also. Total PITA. GM put a lot of extras in that package, it was well worth it!
