Default Time to replace the OEM GYs

UPS just dropped off my new RE-11s in stock sizes. Can't wait to get them on the car. I was kind of surprised at how aggressive the tread pattern looks in person. Even though these are stock sizes they look wider. Probably just because they are not on the car.

The tread may be a bit wider - 'same size tires' can vary in section and tread width by manufacturer and design . . . .

Had RE 11's on an 08 I had. Loved them. Very quiet and a soft ride.

RE-11 or Pilot Super Sport is what I'm debating between right now.

I was thinking of going with super sports too but wanted to stick with OEM sizes to rule out AH/TC issues. I know if you stay within the same size differrense front to back that is not an issue even going up in size but i didn't think that was possible with the super sports.

Both great tires! For Regular C6 sizes, I would go with RE-11 since it is more sticky. I tried it on my brother's car, and the traction was excellent at good weather! I heard super sport tires provide a bit moe traction at faul weather, though.

You could do a 255 front and 295 rear with the PSS's. Or a 265 front and 305 rear. The 305/30-19 is cheaper than the 295/35-19.

How long did they last on his car?

Those combos look like they would work but i suppose I wanted to stick with OEM sizes just to be sure i have a perfect match. Last thing I need after spending 1,200 on tires is problem with the fitment. There was one thread i read on this forum about wider tires causing handling issues. Something to do with the sidewall and the rim width. These RE11 from what i have read should be a noticeable improvement over the stock GYs. Keep us posted on you decision. Lots of good things written about the Super Sports.

How long did they last on his car?
He sold the car before they got worn out, but at the very least we did not see any premature wear on tires when he tried them at the track, meaning they do not overheat easily, and hold up well at the track.

Cool. I'll probably try the RE-11. I'm putting a T-trim Vortech on, so I'm trying to get something that stands a chance of getting traction without doing a drag radial.

I am about ready for tires also. They are coming out with a RE11A soon. I am debating them or the RE760 both are excellent tires with good wear. My friend has the RE11 with 25'000 on them they still got another 8 to 10,000 on them.

Yes it is possible as I just did it last week. Went to 255/40/18 fronts and 295/35/19 rears with the super sports and those sizes keep the oem stagger of 1.1-1.2 just perfect.

I have a 2007 with Z51 and 14,000 on the clock. I would probably still pass inspection but my traction has fallen off big time with the age of the tires. It's basically a drift car with the GYs..

I just put a new set of Pilot Super Sports on my 2007 Z06 in the stock sizes. Replaced the Goodyear runflats which everyone knows are terrible. The Michelin's are quieter, Sticker, And better in wet weather. This is why I chose them for my car.

Some of you may find this a bit funny.

My 10 year old daughter just came in from the garage and asked me why I have new truck tires... I LMAO... So cute.

Like I said super sports, but so far i don't get the attraction to them. Yes they grip very well and the weather is not even warm here yet ( 40's-50 temp wise) so they will only get better but I find them noisy and a little harsher riding than the oem goodyears. I put 200 miles on them so far and I might just sell them. The jury is still out for me on them.
