Strange noise from center console found.
I had a very strange buzzing coming from cup holder area when eng was hot and under a light load, like when trying to maintain 30mph.
Dealor could hear it but could not track it down. Said something was rubbing. They sent info to the engineers at GM to see it they had any knowledge of this problem.
I did a search here on CF and found a few threads in the C5 section. Possible causes were bad cats and one was the MAF. Had the cats scoped at the dealer, they are fine.
I looked at the MAF and noticed the Hallteck design on the silicone connector was low on drivers side instead of centered on top. I rotateded the connecter and buttoned it back up.
Sound/rattle is gone......very strange!!
Anyone else have this happen? Why would this happen?
You can see in this pic where the coupling is a little off from center. Just behind the MAF.
