Anyone running continental extreme contact tires
So looks like I'm gonna be in the market for tires . I can get these continental tires for a pretty good price . They have a good wear rating , which is what I am looking for . I just use my car to cruise around , nothing extreme . Anyone have any luck with these ? Seems like everyone is running either nittos or hankooks . Do these tires wear well ?

I would not go near a Continental tire. On my Bmw's i made them switch them out for Bridgestones. We actually handled them at one time, but stopped do to all the adjustments and overall poor quality. I am sure it is the tire of choice for some, but I can tell you from experience they are not for me.

Advanced
I put them on my 08 1LT coupe, with Z-51, and as soon as the runcraps are gone on my 2010 1lt coupe I will get another set of them. I couldn't believe the ride difference and how much quieter they were not to mention the 12,000 miles I put on them and they didn't show any wear.

these tires are great in the rain which is why i bought them and the tread life is supposedly 50,000 miles. i only have the fronts done for now, till my rears wear out- which is pretty soon. the tires are soft and not hard like the run-flats. i did enjoy the quick steering response with the run flats. with these Continental dws extreme steering response is not as quick. but i can live with that because in the rain they stick to the road unlike the stock run flats i had. good luck in your choice.

I've got the ExtremeContact DW (not the DWS) on my 08 Z51.
I have about 4,000 miles on them now.
They are extremely quiet - almost silent. And they ride very smooth.
They don't have quite the razor sharp handling & response of the OEM Goodyears, but they do handle very well.
One thing that was a pleasant surprise is that they maintain very good traction in low temperatures, all the way down to 30 degrees. I drive much more carefully in the cold temps, but I have never felt them slip, or break loose. For a summer tire, they are unbelievable in the cold weather.
Overall, I'm extremely happy with these tires. I highly recommend them.
Keep this in mind....
This is one of those tires that definitely needs to be broken in for the first 500 miles. During that time they feel a little soft, and the steering doesn't feel as responsive as it should. But after the break-in period, they tighten up very nicely.
One last thing, so far they haven't shown any measurable wear.

I have ExtremeContact DWS - been on for a few thousand miles - still look great. And I ran a 12.06 1/4 mile on them at the local drag strip on my stocker I've got nothing but praise for these tires

This should shed a little light on the subject:

All Continental tires ARE NOT created equal.
